John used 2005 as a learning year in all competitive 'National Superstock Championship' which runs alongside all thirteen 'British Superbikes' meetings at venues nationwide. This only being his first attempt of any championship and third season of racing, he has been undoubtedly in at the deep end had some very encouraging results including some solid top ten finishes at circuits he's never seen before (best position 7th). John feels very enthusiastic for the forthcoming 2006 season as he now had a good season of racing under his belt, at a level where one second will separate the top sixteen up in front of a crowd of 30,000! This class has over 70 entrants! In 2005 he rode an S.L.H 24/7 Ltd Suzuki GSXR-1000-K5 which is an awesome machine, but not the easiest bike to set up for each circuit. He has had a fall at only the second round at Thruxton where he sustained a severe knee injury, but working hard with the physio he managed to get back out only missing three of the rounds and bounced back well to take eleventh position at Mondello from twentieth on the grid.
The 2006 season will be a very exiting year for the team with a change of machinery to two new S.L.H. 24/7 Ltd Yamaha R1's, which is a proven championship winning make, all last years experience on set up, track knowledge and some serious testing abroad in January and February should see this team make a serious impact on the 'National Superstock Championship' in '2006'. Can't wait!!!
